| When
one thinks "The Orient", one usually limits one's reference
to thinking of Thailand, Indonesia, parts of India perhaps, and so on...
Properly, however, the meaning of "Orient" should be much wider,
as the concept covers much more, and includes some Arab countries. Just
to remind you: the famous Orient Express - its destination was Turkey
and Syria!
Arabian Nights Imports was created to bring you the harvest of
extensive travels and searches for the most interesting and valuable,
high-quality artifacts, hand-crafted furniture, hand-made silks, and other
fine items from exotic Arabia - the less explored part of the Orient.
We believe that their beauty and quality are simply unmatched by any other
similar items available on our market. As one collector said after examining
our fine furniture - "these pieces are made to become precious antiques
one day".
Our management is composed of a group of dedicated professional people,
enthusiastic about their work. An artist, an experienced art historian,
a belly dancer enthusiast devoted to Oriental, Middle Eastern culture
and tradition, together make up this excellent team, which enables us
to make our purchasing decisions knowledgeably, with the necessary expertise.
This works directly to benefit You - the end user.
Customers'
comments:
" Hi,
I am from Damascus and still found some unique items on your website.
You have very good selection.
Thanks, B.C."
"Hi Derek,
The set arrived and is gorgeous…thank the artisans in Syria on my behalf,
and to those who packed and crated the table and chairs. I saw three of
the crates fall from 12 feet and the forklift go under the top of the
tabletop’s crate, and there was no damage…
Thanks again for making such fine art available.
A.S." See

It is also our desire
to use our store and Web site to promote the fine Middle-Eastern arts.
At the same time, our sales will actively help selected artists and
craftsmen in poor Arab countries to continue their work and to keep
the traditional crafts alive. We trade their merchandise fairly, without
middlemen, which gives you the assurance that your purchases "will
make a difference".
We
are proud to sponsor our local belly dance events, offering our back
garden space for performances. Above: Opening evening of dance in our
summer garden, in old Fort St. location.
